Gentle Somatics Yoga

Gentle Somatics yoga is designed to repattern muscles and fascia that have become tight and restricted from habitual postures and movement. Somatics is the mind/body as perceived from within. In this yoga class you will be guided into becoming acutely aware of your body in a way you may have never experienced otherwise. Using visualization, intention and creative exploration we move through subtle, gentle movements that have a therapeutic effect on the body as a whole. By releasing old patterns of holding stress and pain within our bodies we create space for more peace within ourselves.

Gentle Somatic Yoga® incorporates slow, mindful movements that amplify bodily awareness. This allows the practitioner to self-correct and permanently release persistent stress-based patterns from within their body (Soma).

The restorative sequences, called Somatic Movement Flows®, are ideal for unwinding stiffness, pain and postural imbalances, and will dramatically increase flexibility through brain-to-muscle re-education. From this place of new-found freedom, we naturally return to our generative state of peace and wellbeing.

Gentle Somatic Yoga®is an innovative blend of Hatha Yoga, Hanna Somatic Education, Core Energetics, Pranayama (breathing techniques), and visualizations & meditations.

All abilities and ages are welcome.

Benefits include improving mobility and strength, reducing or eliminating chronic pain conditions.

This class is a very nice complement to any more dynamic yoga or fitness practice.
