Rebuilding From Within: Kintsugi Teachings for the Solstice Season
Stephanie Guerrero | DEC 3, 2025

As the year reaches its darkest point, we arrive at one of the most sacred turning points on the Shamanic Wheel: the Winter Solstice—the longest night and the birth of the returning sun.
In Shamanic traditions, this is the Season of Stillness and Rebirth, a time when the Earth pauses, breathes, and begins to rebuild the light from within. Even though the night is long, the Solstice marks a quiet but powerful shift: the light beginning to return, slowly, steadily, and with purpose.
It is a moment to reflect on the past year, honor the challenges that shaped us, and prepare to rise renewed. And it is in this sacred gateway that the wisdom of Kintsugi becomes a guiding light.
Typically, in Spiritual healing journey, we can get trapped thinking that our wounds, past and experiences we've gone through mark us as being broken or get trapped in thinking there's something "wrong with us." Or worse yet, we get trapped into thinking we constantly have to do healing work and fix something within.
This is where Kintsugi, the Japanese art of mending broken pottery with gold, comes in. It teaches us that healing is not about erasing what was fractured—but illuminating it.
The philosophy honors the object’s history by filling its cracks with gold, creating visible seams that make it more beautiful, meaningful, and resilient than before. It also teaches us to appreciate what once was and see the repurposed value it can have- a metaphor for embracing and accepting yourself no matter where you are now, regardless of what changes of you're experiencing be it physical or mental/emotional.
Both honor the darkness as a place where rebirth begins. When the night is longest, the spark of light is reborn.
Both teach that nothing truly broken is beyond repair.
Cracks become pathways for wisdom and radiance.
Both follow the rhythms of wabi-sabi—the beauty of imperfection—and mottainai, an invitation not to waste what still holds value.
Just as Kintsugi elevates a vessel’s story, the Solstice elevates your story—every challenge, every lesson, every moment you collected this year.
And this is why Kintsugi is the perfect healing ritual to honor this seasonal shift back into the light.
Before gold can be applied in Kintsugi, the pieces must be lovingly aligned.
Similarly, before we move into a Solstice ritual, the body must soften… release… reconnect.
That is where our Winter Solstice Glow Flow begins. On December 19th, under blacklights and nostalgic beats, movement becomes meditation. Breath becomes alignment. Your body becomes the vessel preparing to receive new light.
This flow will help you:
Shake off the heaviness of the year
Reconnect with your center
Regulate the nervous system
Shift into an introspective, intuitive state
Prepare your heart for the ritual that follows
Only after the movement settles you into your body do we begin the practice of gilding your intentions with gold.

After the glow-filled Vinyasa flow, you’ll transition into a guided art ritual inspired by Kintsugi.
This is where intention meets creativity and reflection becomes art.
The return of the sun
Your inner radiance rising after darkness
The wisdom of your personal journey
The beauty of everything you’ve carried and transformed this year
This ritual is not about flawless art— in fact, Kintsugi, embraces imperfection as it makes a work of art even more unique and one-of-a-kind.
It’s about honoring your journey with compassion and reverence.
All art materials are provided; your only job is to show up with an open heart.
